AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL  MARVELS OF THE TURKEY

Day 1. Arrival to Ankara

Day 2 The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations which is one of the finest museums of the world, is situated in an old covered Bazaar dating to 15th century. This fascinating Collection contains artifacts from Stone Age down to Roman times.

In the afternoon, drive to Gordion, the capital city of Frigian Kingdom and the city of legendary king Midas with the Golden Touch. It was in Gordion where Alexander the Great cut the Gordion Knot.

Day 3. Early departure for Hattusas, the capital city of Hittite Kingdom. Visit The Great Temple of Sun God, the citadel, city walls and open air shrine of Yazilikaya. Then proceed to Alacahoyuk, one of the important early Bronze Age centres where Turkish archaeologist discovered 13 Royal tombs overshadowing the fame of famous Trojan Treasury. Return to Ankara for dinner and overnight.

Day 4. Early flight to Kayseri. Upon arrival, drive to Kultepe Kanesh former capital of Hittites and center Karum of Assyrian colonies established by the Assyrian merchants. After visiting Kayseri Archaeological Museum and historical monuments of Kayseri and drive to Cappadocia.

Day.5 Full day sightseeing for the rock cut churches and great geological formations of Cappadocia.

Day 6. Departure for Konya, the capital of Seljuk Sultane. visit the Seljuk Monuments such as Karatay Tile Museum, Ince Minare Medrese for Seljuk wood and stone carving. visit also Mausoleum of Mevlana and former monastery of Whirling Dervishes.

Day 7.Departure for Catalhoyuk, the most important Neolithic city in Turkey. Excavated by British archaeologist James Mellart is one of the oldest settlements of the world. Drive to Pamukkale.

Day 8.Visit Hieropolis and Pamukkale and proceed to Aprodisias. dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.

Day. 9.Full day visit of Ephesus and overnight in Izmir

Day 10. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Izmir and drive Sardis, the capital city of Lydian Kingdom and Creusus. Visit the Temple of Artemis, Gymnasium and Synagogues complex and return to Izmir.

Day.11 Departure for Pergamon, the capital city of Pergamon Kingdom. Visit Acrapolis where Attalids had their magnificent monument and Asclepion, one of the greatest medical institutions of the ancient world. Visit also Troy on the way way to Canakkale.

Day 12 Departure for Istanbul. After crosing Dardanelles, drive to Istanbul. In the afternoon Saint Sophia Museum and Basilica Cistern.

Day 13 Full day tour of Istanbul, visit the Archaeological Museum which houses one of the greatest collections of the antiquity. In the afternoon visit The museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts, the Blue Mosque and Rustempasa Mosque.

Day 14 A day dedicated to marvels of the city, Topkapi Palace including Harem. Visit also Chora Church which houses finest mosaics and frescoes of the 14th century.

In the Afternoon Cruise on Bosphorus.

Farewell Dinner.
